The Best Me

Today I have been pondering my purpose.
It is a tricky thing to understand.

I love people. I love photography and art. I enjoy a good cup of coffee (with a dash of sugar).
But how does this make me unique?
How can I use my "talents" to be the best version of me?

Today I have taken time to design. I haven't been very artistic or felt the need to create in quite awhile, but today I have been hanging out at a fantastic coffee shop, uninterrupted, and it is lovely. I have enjoyed a mug full of hot Guatemalan coffee. Mmmm.
I feel artsy. What a great feeling.

Who wants some art? My mom is getting a piece soon I'm sure. As well as brother (Merry [belated] Christmas).  :)

"You got my heartbeat runnin' away, beating like a drum and it's coming your way. Can't you hear that boom, badoom, boom, boom, badoom, boom, bass?"

What inspires you?

Sieff: Engagement Photos

I was psyched when Lauren and Adam asked me to take their engagement photos! Don't these two make a beautiful couple?

Friends: Thomas

Here is another one of my dear friends, Thomas. I'm not sure what we were doing this day, but we were waiting for something. Thomas asked me if I would take some pictures of him because he needed a new profile picture. I grabbed my camera and we went out back and snapped some pictures. I'm glad I got to capture his laugh...what a great smile!

Spade: Family Photos

I absolutely love this family! Tina is a friend from college, and through her I have met the whole family. Beautiful people full of laughter and love. We had a great time! On this day I learned that it is tricky to get genuine, comfortable smiles from six people all at the same time. I am happy with how these pictures turned out even though it was a bright and windy day in good ole South Dakota.

Friends: Ashley

My dear friend Ashley and I heard of a hotel that was getting demolished and I wanted to take pictures. Imagine that.  :)  I am thankful for friends that will jump into the crazy ideas I have and run with them. Thank you Ashley for being a trooper. We sure did have fun!

This last picture was a fun one to play around with. I think it'd be great if Ashley needed a card to send to people. Maybe a "Thinking of You" card...maybe in the future huh Ash Mat?

Aly

Aly is amazing! She has such a unique style, which was a blast to capture!

Jamie: Senior

Jamie was so much fun to take pictures of! For the first photo shoot, Jamie's mom and two friends came along (thank you for your help, adjusting hair and clothing). Kat from The Beauty Room did Jamie's hair and makeup for the second photo shoot. She also allowed us to take a few pictures in the shoppe. Thank you Kat!
Senior year...what a milestone. It is a year of transition, laughter, questioning and seeking, college applications and a year full of lasts. What better way to sum up your life throughout the past years than to take some great senior pictures?
